Shipping & Delivery

Where is my order sent from?

Excalibur units are sent from our Victorian warehouse in Melbourne, while parts and accessories are sent from our Queensland premises located in Toogoolawah.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Delivery times vary based on where you live. Here is a general guideline of delivery times.

 

– Metro areas average delivery time frame: 3 - 5 business days.
– Regional areas average delivery time frame: 5 - 7 business days.
– Remote locations average delivery time frame: 7 - 14 business days.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free for all orders, excluding commercial dehydrators, some spare parts and orders being delivered to external territories. Take a look at our shipping policies for more info.

Where is my order?

You can check the location of your order using the tracking details that were provided via email when the order was sent.

Do you ship internationally?

No, we only ship within Australia.

Ordering

Pre-orders

Items may occasionally be available for pre-ordering. Should a product be available for pre-order, the product will have a pre-order sticker, and will display a "Pre-Order" button, rather than the standard "Add to cart" button. A banner detailing when the product is expected to arrive will also be present on the product page.

 

The pre-order process remains the same as a standard order, however goods that are on pre-order won't be shipped until they come into stock. Customers who have pre-ordered an item will be notified via email as soon as the stock has arrived and is ready to ship.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit card, PayPal, EFT, and various Buy Now, Pay Later options.

What is your return/refund policy?

What are the warranty terms?

Warranty on domestic units is 2 years on the motor, 1 year on parts. On commercial units it is 1 year on both the motor and parts. You can see our full warranty information here.

What happens once I've placed my order?

Once an order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation email detailing your order. We will begin processing your order and getting it shipped out to you as per our shipping policies. Once an order has been shipped, you will receive tracking details so you can keep track of where your order is at.

Where is Excalibur made?

The Excalibur is made in Sacremento, California in the USA.

What are Excalibur cases made from?

Excalibur cases come in two types, plastic and stainless steel. The plastic models use a polycarbonate that is recognised as safe by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Food, United Kingdom Food Standards Agency, Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and other regulatory agencies Worldwide.

Are Excalibur trays dishwasher safe?

Yes, Excalibur trays are dishwasher safe.

Are Excalibur trays BPA free?

Yes, Excalibur uses polypropylene #5 for it's trays. It’s the safest plastic for food contact.

Why is the temperature on the unit different than my food temperature?

The Excalibur thermostat was never originally designed to hold an accurate air temperature. It was designed to control an accurate food temperature.

 

In general, food temperature is about 20 degrees cooler than air temperature. This is due to evaporation. As the moisture on the surface of the food evaporates, it cools the food. The temperature reading on the Excalibur dial refers to the food temperature. If you set the Excalibur at 40C, you are setting it to hold the food temperature at 40C, but the air temperature may get as high as 51C.

Is the low temperature good for living foods and the high temperature safe for meat?

“Living foods” are healthy foods containing living enzymes. Excalibur’s Adjustable Thermostat lets you dry foods at temperatures low enough to keep enzymes viable in fruits and vegetables. The domestic units also let you set temperatures high enough to safely dry meat for jerky in household use, while the commercial units allow temperature settings that will safely dry meat for jerky in a commercial setting. The temperature on the Excalibur is the average temperature. The air will fluctuate above and below that.

Can the Excalibur stay on unattended?

Yes, the Excalibur has three separate circuits to protect them from electrical malfunctions. Just set it, and forget it. Excalibur uses a premium quality, motor driven timer. If the power should go off and on, the timer keeps track of the actual drying time.

Is dehydrating the best way to preserve foods?

With an Excalibur dehydrator you can control the time and temperature. Traditional canning methods subject foods to higher temperatures. When raw food is heated to an internal temperature of 120F or higher, much of the nutritional value is lost. In addition, canning leaches out water soluble vitamins and minerals, further depleting the nutrients found in raw food.

How do I view/update my account details?

You can view and update your account details by logging into your customer account and navigating to the "My Account" section by clicking on the account icon in the site's header. From here you can add or view/update any addresses you have on file, as well as access your past order history.
